If you’re like me, I guess you like to know a little bit about whoever is writing what you’re reading. So who am I? Well, let’s see if I can sum myself up for you.
My name is Mary Beth. I’m a junior in high school. I live in the Midwest.
I love English. I love to read and write. I love everything creative. Music is a crucial part of my life, and I believe that beauty is as necessary to life as food and water. I also believe that art can be found everywhere, not just in a painting or a sculpture.
I’m a Sanguine Melancholy, if that sort of thing means anything to you. I can be vibrant and talkative, and I can also be sullen and withdrawn. I can be sweet, and I can also be snarky. I’m a redhead, and my hair is naturally curly, which I think really is part of my personality. I love good-natured “arguments,” but I hate the barb-throwing ones that result in hurt feelings and broken people.
I love to travel, but since my parents hate it, my opportunities are few (as in, nonexistent). There are so many places I want to see, and I would love to travel the world someday. I’d like to start with a road trip down Route 66, and a visit to each of the 50 states.
I don’t really date, because I have really high standards for guys, and I never meet anyone who fits my criteria. I really think that I won’t have much trouble in my life with being in wrong relationships, because I am so picky that if my guy actually exists, he’s got to be the one and only.
I do love America, but I don’t love everything about her. I believe that true patriotism does not consist of blind following of any governmental system, but rather, it is the desire to keep America as the same country the founding fathers wanted her to be (and we have come much farther away from that than you may realize).
I am a Christian. However, I have a friend who says, “If you have to tell people you’re a Christian, you’re probably not.” Jesus is the most important part of my life, and I tell you that just so you will know that I am not ashamed of Him, because I hope you can see that without me having to say so.
I am also exactly like Anne Shirley (from the Anne of Green Gables series). When L.M Montgomery created Anne, she created a clone of me… years before I was born.
And now you know a little bit about me.
